How Do I Post an Ad?
It's easy to list your products, services, and advertisements, simply do the following:
- Click on the main category of your choice i.e. For Sale
- Then select the subcategory of your choosing i.e. computer
- Click on "Post an Ad" and the posting an ad screen will now appear
- Fill out the posting an ad screen:
- Posting title: A very short description of your product or service, etc.
- Specific location: your particular location/city i.e. South Side, North Coast, etc.
- Item's cost: select the currency you wish from the drop-down box, and then enter the amount.
- Posting description: a full and clear description of your product or service goes here, you can even insert a ready-made flyer or brochure as well in this section. Use the paragraph drop-down box to increase the font size if you wish.
- Email address: fill in your email address and confirm it to avoid any errors (you can then choose to have island500 hide your email address on your ad if you wish. If so, island500 will forward the responses to you and you can decide then which replies you wish to respond to.
- Optional Sponsored ad only section: This section is an option only section. All ads on island500.com are 100% FREE, However, if you choose to upgrade your ad to a ‘sponsored ad’, there is a relative fee for this service. If chosen, then your ad, in addition to being posted like everyone else’s ad, will also appear in one of the sponsored ad boxes on that categories main page. Your ad will appear in the sponsored ad main page boxes for the duration that you have selected. This will give your ad maximum visibility and help you to better sell or market your item or business.
- Add images: select this button and you can easily add up to 6 pictures of your item. For real estate ads, you can add up to 12 pictures.
- Verification code: enter the code as it appears. This code is to prevent spamming.
- Terms of Service: check the box acknowledging you have read and agree with the terms of service.
- Continue: click this button to complete your ad. An email will be sent to you so you can look at your ad one final time and confirm it. You must confirm the ad within 3 hours or the ad will be automatically deleted. When posting ads in general, the easiest way is to simply log-in and post your ads. When you are logged-in to your account and post an ad, it is not necessary to confirm your ad.

When you wish to place an advertisement, you should phrase your information as if you are trying to sell something—which you are! Make your product or service sound dynamic and exciting, as if it's something that no one should be without. Then, provide information necessary for a potential buyer to contact you (you can leave a phone number if you are an individual; business’ providing telephone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses is a good start). Note: all postings protect the actual email address of the person or individual placing the ad if so desired. Once someone is interested in your item, they may send you a response which will be sent to your email allowing you the opportunity to reply however you wish. The option to leave your phone number in the ad is always your choice. Until you respond to the prospective person, your identity will remain anonymous.
